Full Professor at Dept of Atmospheric Sciences/IAG/University of São Paulo. Expertise in Hydroclimatology, Hydrometeorological instrumentation, and Biosphere-Atmosphere Interaction. Coordinates the Climate and Biosphere Lab at IAG/USP. He works with computational atmospheric models, rainfall-runoff and plant productivity models, and field observatories with flux tower and hydrological gauges in cropland, native and urban areas in Amazonia, Cerrado and Atlantic forest biomes. He was a participant of Brasil-UK ABRACOS Project 1990, LBA Experiment (2000-2010), Biota Fapesp and Fapesp Climate Change program. Member of the Coordination Commitee of FAPESP Climate Change Program, and representative of Latin America at World Meteorological Organization/Commission for Agricultural Meteorology/Flux Measurements for Agriculture.
