Organized by Prof. Pedro Jacobi (IEE/USP) and Eduardo Trani (CDHU), the publication was carried out through a partnership with the Brazil team of the LatinoAdapta Project (IEE/USP and FGVces), linked to the Regional Center for Climate Change and Decision Making, with the Secretariat of Infrastructure and Environment. The book's objective is to strengthen the debate on the pressing resilience building and risk management related to climate and natural disasters in increasing frequency and intensity in all countries of the planet.
To this end, it counts on the contribution of different views on the integration of adaptation measures in policies, strategies and regional and national plans, as well as measures related to improvements in education, raising awareness and training of human and institutional resources with a focus on women, youth, local communities and vulnerable populations. Focusing on the State of São Paulo, professors from São Paulo universities, researchers, technicians from state agencies and members of NGOs with extensive experience in the subject participate in the book. Book produced within the LatinoAdapta Project.
