Full Professor of the Departament of Atmospheric Sciences (USP). Graduated in Civil-Aeronautics Engineering (ITA), MSc (INPE), PhD (USP), his expertise is in Hidroclimatology, Meteorological Instrumentation and Biosphere-Atmosphere Interactions. Coordinator of the Climate and Biosphere Lab at IAG/USP, which investigates the hydrological and carbon cycles with the purpose to quantify the environmental services in the perspective of the land use changes, global climate changes and natural oscillations of climate. His lab uses techniques of land terrestrial ecosystem modelling, rainfall-runoff modelling, and monitoring of ecosystems with flux towers and automated wifi geosensors. Responsible for the courses of Climatology and applied statistics, Meteorological instrumentation and Biosphere-Atmosphere Interaction. He coordinated projects in LBA Experiment (Large-Scale Biosphere-Atmosphere Interaction Experiment in Amazonia), in Program Biota-Fapesp, and is member of FAPESP´s Coordination of Climate Change Program.
