She has bachelor, MSc. and Doctorate degrees in Physics at the University of Sao Paulo (1991, 1994 and 1999, respectively). She developed post-doc projects at the University of Sao Paulo in 2000 and at Goddard Space Flight Center in 2001. Nowadays she is Professor at the Department of Atmospheric Sciences of the Institute of Astronomy, Geophysics and Atmospheric Sciences of the University of São Paulo (IAG-USP), where she is the current Coordinator of the Graduate Program in Meteorology and Vice-head of the Atmospheric Sciences Department. Her scientific interests are in Meteorology with emphasis in radiative transfer processes in the atmosphere, particularly under the influence of biomass burning aerosol particles in the Amazon region. She has advised six MSc and one Doctorate students and currently she advises four Master degree students. Has 23 scientific papers published and is current member of the International Radiation Commission (2009 to 2012).
